Task Order #1: Library of Congress Perimeter Security ($4.5M)

Owner: Architect of the Capitol

Washington, DC

We are currently adding perimeter security and force protection fixtures around the buildings of the Library of Congress.  With aesthetic and historic preservation a high priority of the AOC, all security and force protection measures were designed and constructed to minimize the visual impact on these sites from the original Frederick Law Olmstead design of the Capitol Hill area, which is listed on the National Historical Register.  The project includes adding bollards, barriers, guardhouses, traffic barriers, and more.  Due to changes in force protection requirements and desired improvements to the aesthetic impact to vehicle entrances, we were issued a Design-Build change order to redesign and construct a number of items.
