Our Back River project team recently finished up one of two projects it has been managing simultaneously.  These two projects were the first at Back River since 1998 when we performed modifications to the Activated Sludge Facility ($16M).

Air Handling and Ventilation System Improvements ($3.8M)

Owner: City of Baltimore Department of Public Works

Baltimore, Maryland

This project includes upgrades to the air handling and ventilation systems for the Laboratory Buildings as well a new Central Chiller/Heating Plant.  The Laboratory Buildings remain occupied throughout the construction phases of the project.

Process Evaluation Facility ($2.6M)

Owner: City of Baltimore Department of Public Works

Baltimore, Maryland

This project was completed in February of this year.  This project included the construction of a 28’ diameter by 65’ tall steel Acid Phase Digester Tank set on an auger cast pile foundation.  The project was a pilot project for the City of Baltimore and, will be a model for future projects.
