Project Description:
This large addition/retrofit project in Washington, D.C. was a major undertaking. It consisted of the provision of seven high performance dewatering centrifuges, modifications to existing centrifuges, and provision of two biosolids storage silos for direct loading to trucks. Also included were feed pumps, grinders, centrate systems, conveyor systems, lime transport and mixing systems all to support and serve the centrifuges and silos. Additionally, the project included upgrades to the administration and control areas of the Solids Processing Building and the addition of a multipurpose room.
The plant had to be kept in service 24 hours a day, seven days per week. Milestone dates were applicable.
