Project Description:
This project, at the Blue Plains Wastewater Treatment Plant, includes extensive improvements to the pumping system. We are removing each individual pump identified in the process pump schedule and provide in its place a new pump. Only one or two pumps per type can be removed simultaneously. We are removing individual motors and drives and providing in its place a new or rebuilt motor. We are removing, rebuilding, and replacing the motor and magnetic drive of each individual pump. We are providing and installing twelve new butterfly valves, actuators and associated appurtenances for the Filter Influent Pumps. We are providing repairs and providing and installing new valves and operators to the existing valves and the Filtration and Disinfection Facility. We are replacing electrical switchgear.

The pump work is a major portion of this project. We are installing 45 pumps, eight of which are 26,000 GPM capacity. The pumps include the following:
• Filter Influent Pumps
• Washwater Pumps
• Surface Wash Pumps
• Spent Washwater Pumps
• Low Pressure Reclaimed Final Effluent Pumps
• High Pressure Reclaimed Final Effluent Pumps
• Chlorine Injector Water Pumps
• Dewatering Pumps
We are disconnecting all ancillary systems associated with each pump during removal, and reconnecting the same during installation, including but not limited to:
• Electrical power connections to each pump motor
• Seal water piping and valves for each pump
We provided and delivered the following equipment to DC Water and Sewer Authority shortly after Notice to Proceed:
• Six Eurotherm Chessell 12 Channel Video Recorders
• 12 Venturi Flow Transmitters
