Contract Amount: $14,000,000

Project Description: This project involves the expansion and upgrading of the Cape Charles WWTP in Cape Charles, Virginia.

Major items of work include:
• New Operations Building complete with administrative, process controls, and laboratory facility
• New Headworks Building, consisting of a building, cast-in-place concrete channels, screening equipment, grit removal equipment, influent flowmeter, process piping, electrical, instrumentation, and controls
• Construction of cast-in-place concrete biological reactor tanks, including diffused air equipment, blowers, mixers, pumps, slide gates, process piping, electrical, instrumentation and controls
• Construction of an emergency holding tank including: pumps, process piping, electrical, instrumentation and controls
• Construction of Membrane Filtration System including: cast-in-place concrete tanks, membrane filtration equipment, blowers, pumps, chemical feed systems, process piping, electrical, instrumentation and control
• Construction of a new Process Building that houses equipment which supports the membrane treatment process and main power plant distribution equipment;
• Construction of a new ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system, consisting of cast-in-place concrete channels, UV equipment, flowmeter, electrical, instrumentation, and controls
• Construction of new plant water system, consisting of wet well, pumps, flowmeter, process piping, electrical, instrumentation, and controls; construction of cast-in-place concrete waste sludge storage tanks, including diffused air equipment, blowers, process piping, electrical, instrumentation, and controls
• Construction of Solids Processing Building, consisting of belt filter press, sludge feed pumps, polymer feed system, conveyor, process piping, electrical, instrumentation, and controls
• New power distribution and process control system
