Project Description:
This project involved the construction of an urban park located in downtown Washington, DC. The facility consisted of walkways, promenades, water features, an ornamental pergola, lighting, benches, landscape and granite work.
A major item of work involved the rebuilding of the Seawall. This included: construction of a turbidity curtain, sheet piles, a cofferdam and sheeting. The stonework was extensive and included granite pavers, granite fountains, concrete pavers, asphalt blocks, stone curbing and granite bollards. There was elaborate concrete and fountain work with special finishes, textured paints, special colors, etc. Also included were utility relocations, dewatering, building foundation removal and soil bioengineering.
